Accessibility Statement

Indigenous Bridges wants every person — including people with disabilities — to be able to read our stories, explore our map, and reach us. We are continually improving this website to make that true.

Our standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, which also underpins Israeli Standard IS 5568, the Americans with Disabilities Act guidance in the United States, the UK Equality Act 2010, and the European Accessibility Act (EN 301 549).

What we have done

Pages are built with semantic headings and landmarks, can be used with a keyboard alone, include text alternatives for meaningful images, respect your device's reduced-motion setting, and work with screen readers. Hebrew and Persian display right-to-left.

Accessibility preferences

The accessibility button on every page lets you enlarge text, use a more readable font, highlight links, strengthen the focus indicator, reduce motion, and switch to high contrast or grayscale. Your choices are remembered on your device.

Known limitations

Some older photographs may lack detailed descriptions, the interactive map is visual by nature (every story on it is also available as text in the archive), and some content is not yet translated into every language we offer. We are working on these.

Contact us about accessibility
